Smokefree Paris
We receive a lot of email requesting information about smokefree dining and accommodation in Paris.
Legal Background
Various French laws, and more particularly the "Loi Evin", stipulate that smoking in establishments open to the public is regulated. Smoking and non-smoking areas in restaurants and the workplace, for example, must be clearly indicated. Smoking is prohibited outright in other venues, such as schools and public transport. However, the application of the laws is sporadic; smokefree restaurants and hotels are difficult to find.
We are ourselves nonsmokers and as a public service we indicate two websites here that provide a short list of nonsmoking venues in Paris.
